The Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice (Code) is the code of practice for Australia’s mutual banks, credit unions and building societies.

The Code is an important public expression of the level of support we will provide to our members and the fire and emergency services community, and the standards by which we will be held accountable.

It outlines clearly and transparently what a member can expect when dealing with us.

Our Code obligations include the following key promises that we make to you as our members and owners

  3. We will not mislead or deceive
  4. We will act honestly and fairly

  6. We will deliver services with reasonable care and skill
  7. We will contribute to our community

The Customer Owned Banking Code Compliance Committee

The Customer Owned Banking Code Compliance Committee (the COBCCC) is an independent body that monitors compliance with the Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice (the Code).

Their purpose is to ensure consistent and high-quality service standards are maintained for the benefit of customers.

They do this by monitoring Code compliance, engaging with stakeholders and analysing the financial services environment.
