Our History

Fire Service Credit Union began in 1972 as a way for firefighters to help each other financially. That original purpose – firefighters helping each other – has changed very little over the years. Today, membership is still exclusively for Emergency Services personnel and their families, meaning your job gives you special access to a unique way of banking.

Fire Service Credit Union is one of the few ‘closed bond’ Credit Unions left in Australia and the only one left in SA. We’re proudly South Australian with our office, all our Staff, Directors and most of our Members based right here is SA.
