Financial Hardship

Occasionally, some FSCU members face financial difficulty. We understand life can take unexpected turns but whatever the circumstances, FSCU is committed to assisting and supporting any members who face financial difficulty.

What you should do

If you are concerned about your ability to meet your FSCU loan repayments please contact us as soon as possible. The sooner we know, the sooner we can start to help.

What we will do

We will take the time to understand your situation. We’ll ask you for information on your financial position and carefully consider how we might be able to help you get back on track.

We can then work cooperatively to resolve any problems meeting financial commitments, based on your individual circumstances.

The types of financial assistance we will offer will depend upon each individual’s situation. This may be for a short, medium or longer period of time depending on your circumstances.

We will also offer help with budgeting. Thoughtful budgeting and planning is the key to achieving your goals.

Who else can help?

We are happy to speak with your nominated representative (subject to getting your signed authority to do so).

We also encourage you to consider seeking advice from a Financial Counsellor.
